Kids quiz Boris about Brexit
In an exclusive chat with Boris Johnson in Downing Street, twenty First News Junior Journalists got to grill the PM about Brexit, the future of the UK and how leaving the EU will affect their lives.
The 8-14 year olds came from schools around the country and spent two hours with Boris Johnson inside No10. The children also presented the Prime Minister with the First News Children’s Charter for Brexit, as voted for by 7000 readers.
In December, more than 1000 First News readers voted for the party they’d like to see in power, and on the issues they care most about. These votes were used to create a Children’s Charter, which is being presented to the Prime Minister today.
The issues that our readers said they cared about most were:
- The environment/pollution (This issue got more votes than the next three issues added together!)
- Brexit
- Affordable housing
- Animal crulety
- Health – doctors, hospitals and dentists
- Schools
- Crime and policing
- Further education
- Defence
- The refugee crisis
